she believed she could, so she did.

As an entrepreneur for more than a decade (and counting), I've learned that everything is within reach, if you really want it. What began as a wedding planning career quickly escalated to a world of creative opportunities and projects that came to be simply because I believed I could, so I did. Here is my story...

My first website was a WordPress website, and I spent hours watching any and every video tutorial possible to learn how to code and create a modern and fresh website. At the time, the options for newbies like me were really restricted when it came to design, so I settled for a modern and minimalist site, and my career began. I loved that website for a very long time, but I needed a new look that better suited my style...

once upon a time a girl needed a website

HOW A PERFECTIONIST EVENT PLANNER BECAME A WEB DESIGNER

In 2020, disaster struck with a global pandemic, and my career as an Event Planner was put on pause. With a year's hiatus from weddings, I needed a creative outlet, and I began focusing on my design skills. I spent hours learning how to build design templates, process templates for businesses, and learning new web design platforms like Showit, Shopify, and Squarespace.

In that year, I designed 2 new websites for my own brand (settling on a design is harder when it's your own website), and then industry peers began contacting me to design theirs. I found designing websites for others to be the missing puzzle piece to my creative heart. Working alongside like-minded entrepreneurs, who have the same passion for what they do as I do, fuelled a fire to create the most perfect reflection of their brand as possible.

then, disaster struck

"Since 2020, I have designed a beautiful collection of websites, branding assets, and digital media for entrepreneurs like myself. At first, I kept this as a secret side hustle, but my love for web design is too loud and proud not to share. I spend hours immersed in a digital dreamland where I obsess over design aesthetic, Pantone colours, image placement, fonts, and graphics. I continue to learn new programs and processes to keep my skills fine-tuned and in touch with trends. And if a client asks for something I haven't done before, my response will be 'I am not sure how to do that yet, but I am about to learn!' and that's because, well... I believe I can, so I will!

and a business was born

about me

approach is everything...

My approach to design draws a similar comparison to that of my wedding planning approach - I take the time to learn as much as I can about you and your business before I begin any design. I feel it is important to get to know you as a person. I want to hear your story, learn about your interests, hear and see your style (you'd be shocked how much we pull from personal style), and learn your love language when it comes to partnering with a design professional. Then, I dive into learning about your business: how you perceive it and how others around you perceive it, where it is projecting to go, etc. I like to be candid and learn about your strengths, your struggles, and your ambitions so that we can create a design plan that can elevate you to your goals and illustrate you as you want to be seen. Learning who you are as a person, as well as a business, allows me to customize an approach to suit your needs and exceed your expectations early on in our working relationship.

I don't believe in a cookie-cutter approach. You aren't going to get an influx of questionnaires (but you might get one...), and I'm not going to inundate you with structured process templates that you have to follow - that's not how I roll. I adapt my style to you (hence why I like to know your love language), and we'll create a plan and a timeline that works for both of us. I'll keep you updated on the process, and you can be a part of the design and build process as much or as little as you want to be.

While I like to structure projects around how my clients like to work, I think it's important to share a little insight into my own style, to make sure we will be a match!

I am a Virgo by definition and self-diagnosed with Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder (not the OCD you are thinking of), which means I can't live without organization, perfecting the finest details, and obsessing over everything I do until it is perfect. It's a blessing and a curse, but mostly a blessing!

I am wildly creative with a clear ability to visualize and action ideas - not just the design, but the logistical process that it takes to get the end goal. As an eternal optimist and professional problem solver, I see the possibility in every scenario, and I love to show clients that the sky's the limit when it comes to bringing their ideas to life.

One of my superpowers is my ability and determination to learn new things and become an expert in them. I believe everything is within reach if you want it to be; you just have to have the drive to make it happen for you.

These traits are what make me who I am, and it's what makes me really good at what I do!
